I hate to admit it, but Microsoft and I get along.

Reason 1. I love the Xbox. The day that I bought my first Xbox, I had some pretty bad buyer's regret. Sure, Halo was great, but Project Gotham and others were nothing to write home about. Since then, I've played some great Xbox games: Mercenaries, Soul Calibur 2, Knights of the Old Republic, Halo 2, Splinter Cell, Fable, Forza. I've bought 3 Xbox's in total.

Reason 2. Windows is OK. I'm usually more productive in Windows than in Linux except in very specific cases (PHP/mysql). Firefox is better in Windows than in Linux. Mac OS X, for all its geek-worthiness, isn't really an option for software reasons (specifically, software cost reasons...).

Reason 3. Xbox 360. Again, another buyers remorse that has been alleviated by good games (Gears of War, Splinter Cell DA, Fight Night 3, Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, Call of Duty 2). And I'm finally starting to play on Xbox Live some. As a side note, it really bugged me that Microsoft primarily marketed the Live Communicator as a way to trash talk thas a social and team-play device. whatever.

Yes, there are many things I hate about Microsoft. I was cursing them yesterday when I couldn't get Office to do what I wanted. But for the most part I get along with them. And yes, I'm looking forward to Vista and if I were buying to I'd buy a Zune over an iPod (reasons: bigger screen, wifi, even if it's crippled, FM tuner, wmv superior to mp4, Xbox integration). Too bad they're incompatible... :)
